Here's what's new at the Veazie Community School
Pre-K Applications: The Veazie Community School offers a half day pre-k experience for four year old children. Children eligible for pre-k this fall must be four years old on or before October 15, 2013. Children in our pre-k program will attend either a morning or an afternoon session lasting two and a half hours each day.
Each pre-k session will be limited to ten students. Applications for the Veazie Community School pre-k program are now available at the school office. The applications are due back at school by Friday, June 7. If you would like an application mailed to you please contact the school at 947-6573. Please give us a call if you have any questions.
Grade 8 Graduation: Grade 8 graduation will be held Wednesday, June 12, at 7:00PM, in the gym.
Kindergarten Registration 2013-2014: Kindergarten registration and screening for the 2013-2014 school year for children not already enrolled in our pre-kindergarten program will be held on the afternoon of Thursday, April 11. Any parent with a child who will be 5 years old on or before October 15, 2013 may call the school at 947-6573 before Friday, April 5, to schedule his or her child for this process. If you are considering sending your child to kindergarten next fall, please give us a call.
This year’s registration will be by appointment only so that the staff may individually meet with the parents and child. Your child’s birth certificate and records of immunization need to be brought for the screening process.After School Study Hall: Study hall is held Monday through Thursday from 2:35-3:30 PM in either the art room or Mrs. Hileman’s room. The study hall is supervised by Veazie Community School staff members. Study hall ends each day promptly at 3:30 PM, so please arrange to have rides ready at that time.
BREAKFAST/LUNCH: The Veazie Community School offers a bag breakfast each morning for $1.10, school lunch costs $2.10, and milk may be purchased for 30 cents. Students may pay by the day or in advance starting on the first day of school. Please make checks payable to Veazie School Lunch. More information on the lunch program will be sent home at the start of school.
