OHS offers Cross Country skiing to all male and female students. Orono competes in the PVC and in Class C in regional and state competitions.

The Nordic and Alpine ski teams had another great showing at the State Championships. In a very short time frame, the Orono girls have put themselves in a legitimate contender role in Maine High School skiing. The boys would be right there as well if we had male downhill skiers to score with nordic. It also has to be noted that on the first day of competition the athletes endured sub zero wind chill temperatures along with 40-50 mile per hour winds.
This is a sport that continues to grow in popularity at OHS.
